Our story
Hotel Argento Zacatecas is located in the historic Edificio Ilusión—part of the city’s cultural memory for nearly a century.
From Cine Ilusión to Hotel Argento
The building opened its doors in 1936 as Cine Ilusión and, for more than five decades, it was one of Zacatecas’ most important gathering places—where families came together to enjoy films and share special moments.
In the 1990s, a fire marked the end of its era as a movie theater, but it didn’t erase the spirit of the place. Over time, the building was restored and, in 2001, became Hotel Argento Zacatecas—preserving elements of its original structure.
Today, the hotel honors the legacy of the old cinema and keeps alive the story of a space where the projector’s light transformed into hospitality for travelers from around the world.
